Helping Others Participate and Enjoy farms
Our Story
HOPE Farms was founded by Lisa Briley in 2015, after she retired from teaching special education with the Pitt County School system for 30 years. She founded the farm as a place for kids and adults with special needs to be able to interact with animals and agriculture for therapeutic purposes. Today, the farm hosts birthday parties, educational and seasonal events, and camps used to raise money to continue the opportunities provided by our farm to the special needs community.
At HOPE Farms, you'll find goats, sheep, horses, rabbits, pigs and a donkey! All farm visitors can interact with our farm animals and program participants, like our Farm Buddies, have the opportunity to learn about the animals and assist with their daily care. Farm Buddies is a program specifically for adults with special needs where they truly are our farm's best buds!
Pictured above is Lisa Briley, her husband Mike, their 4 children and 9 grandchildren. You will often see Lisa and Mike's grandchildren running around the farm!
A learning opportunity for all ages.
